Cuppacumbalong WAKE

April 28th, 2010

The Art Shed invites you to join the celebrations:

Silenced Heritage: A WAKE for Cuppacumbalong

The event aims to raise awareness of the changes to the lease of Cuppacumbalong property, allowing for the place to be closed to the public, charging entry if desired, and for other uses that are not related to the arts and crafts like agriculture, tourism or residential as stand alone purposes.  These changes were approved by the ACT government but are being contested by  artists and craft people in the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Come and join them in the call to keep Cuppacumbalong open and with the purpose of promoting Australian Arts and Crafts.

Do you have a memory, a photograph, a memento about Cuppacumbalong when it was open to the public and a thriving arts and craft centre?  Bring it to share during the wake.

Musicians performing include:
Nirmal Chandra Jena, from Odissi Dance and Music Company, playing the harmonium
Col Bernau, jazz and mandolin

When:  2 PM, 1st May 2010
Where:  The Art Shed, 7 Naas Road, Tharwa
